We have been through a lot together you and I, shared some great memories and some more painful ones. Remember in 2008 we decided it would be a great idea for me to do the suitcase race in my Speight’s Speedos, things escalated as they tended to do back then and by 2009 I was baring it all up at Coronet Peak in the name of speed. I’m sure you had a good laugh as I lost skin from several tender areas of my body but we did make ‘Plays of the Week’ which made my mum proud, even if it most likely meant I was banned from visiting her at the religious school she teaches at for life. It would be remiss not to thank you for the fun and frivolity I’ve enjoyed with you over the years along with the scrap book of memories captured by the likes of Barry Harcourt and Stefan Haworth which will no doubt give me plenty of fodder for exaggerated rest home stories in the future. I've tried never to miss your celebrations, even if it meant sacrificing the sunshine and spectacular beach scenery of my annual winter holiday just to fly home and party with you. This year I was in Bali dress shopping and tanning my legs for my Drag Race persona BJ the Balinese Bombshell but made sure to leave just in time to share a Speight's with you on Friday night to the backdrop of a stunning fireworks display. You are truly spoilt to receive such good support from your friends in the local community and there are plenty of good buggers who work long and hard to make sure your party goes off without a hitch every year. You have ages gracefully and as they say 40 is the new 30 so you are just coming into your prime. Keep up the good work and I look forward to creating more memories together over the next 40 years.
